Less is more: Subtle Accessories

I used to be a “large earrings, statement necklaces” kind of girl. If it came together with the minimalist lifestyle and my interest in simple living, I don’t know, but lately I have downsized my accessories. Both in the matter of aesthetic style, size and amount.

I have three go-to-accessories that I rarely leave the house without, including:

These tiny, minimalist earstuds:

I love the subtlety of these earstuds. These particular ones are from Ashkal Jewelry. With their distinct shape, they make a statement and suggest attitude. Still, with their delicate size and steel color, they don’t draw too much attention to themselves. I have these in the three different shapes you see in the picture above; cross, square and triangle. Ashkal Jewelry makes them in a variety of different shapes, and you can mix and match as you please.

My Skagen wristwatch:

I thought I wanted a wrist watch with a black leather band and a white dial. When I opened this as a present from my parents for my 30th birthday, however, it turned out I didn’t. I love the simplicity of the design of this wrist watch from nordic SKAGEN, with its silvery band and its dark blue dial. The model is actually named ‘Anita’, which is quite fitting. Wonder if my dad knew when he bought it or if it’s a coincidence?

This tiny pendant:

I swapped out my large statement pendants with a light, tiny and rather minimalist one. My favorite one is this tiny, circular pendant in gold with a tiny diamond. Gifted to me by my parents for my confirmation. I recently found it when cleaning out my old jewelry box from my childhood room. Glad to be wearing it again. ♥︎
